Ways to relieve a Sore Throat
- Stop smoking and avoid second hand smoke, also stay away from chemical pollutants.
- Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly.
- A sore throat can be contagious so don't share eating and drinking utensils.
- Be careful; close contact with someone who has a sore throat can infect you.
- Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water to help clear mucus
- Don't exasperate a sore throat by placing undo strain on vocal chords. Refrain from shouting, screaming or talking excessively.
- Prolonged sore throat may lead to strep throat or more serious conditions. It is advised that you seek medical attention if a persistant sore throat exists.

Vitamin C: Boost your Vitamin C levels by munching on fruit and vegies also consider a Vitamin C supplement.
Salt water: Gargle with a warm salt water solution. This may ease the pain and lessen the inflammation.
Honey and Lemon: Add some honey and freshly squeezed lemon juice to boiling water, allow to cool a bit then sip away.
Cinnamon: Two or three drops of cinnamon oil, mixed with a teaspoon of honey can be quite an effective relief.
holy basil: Natural herb; Place some basil leaves in boiling water, steep, cool and drink, or as a gargle to soothe a sore throat.
Sage: Natural herb; Used as gargle, boil a good deal of water and place in a handful of sage leaves, cool, and add some honey if you like, then gargle.
Lemon: Add the juice of one lemon and one teaspoon of salt to one cup of warm water. Gargle three times a day for one minute.
Honey/apple cider vinegar: Concoct ¼ cup of honey and ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar and consume one tablespoon every four hours, or as needed.
Grapefruit seed extract: Has powerful disinfectant and antiseptic properties. Place four or five drops in a glass of water for an effective gargle.
