Stay away from people who have contracted scabies.
Do not share personal items such as towels, toothbrushes, hair brushes or clothing with members of your household.
If your family has been infected with scabies, wash all towels, bedding and clothing in hot water and dry them on a hot cycle.
Vacuum all rugs, carpets, drapes, curtains and clean all hard surfaces with disinfectant.
Dryclean things that cannot be washed, hot dried or frozen or quarantined.
Wash your hands often, take a bath or shower everyday and change your clothing daily.
