Ways to relieve Mosquito Bites
- Mosquito's are attracted to smell, avoid wearing perfume or strong smelling deodorants when planning an extended stay outdoors.
- Don't allow water to puddle or stand in areas you frequently visit outdoors, these may become breeding grounds for Mosquito's
- Consider buying a electric light zapper.
- Cover yourself up with light loose fitting clothing in hot weather.
- Be careful what you buy to repell Mosquito's. Some repellents may actually cause skin irritations. It is best to use natural herbal repellents.
- The little critters like sweat and moist environments.
- Don't scratch a bite excessively, this may cause infection.
- Wash your hands before applying any remedy on any bite.

Toothpaste: Try this home remedy; Apply toothpaste right on the bite and spread it around. Leave it dry and don't remove, it will crinkle and fall off naturally.
Citronella oil: Rub a little of this oil over the exposed parts of the body.
Peppermint oil: Add a few drops to your body lotion and rub away.
Tea Tree oil: Put a Q tip in a bottle of tea tree oil and sparingly dab on exposed skin. You won't need much since there is a strong scent.
Onion: The juice of a freshly cut onion rubbed on a recent bite will stop the itching.
Baking soda: Used similarly as the toothpaste remedy above.
Ice pack: If you are prone to swelling (allergic reaction) an ice pack placed on bite will reduce the inflammation.
Calamine lotion: A safe alternative to harsh chemical sprays. Just dab on the bite and allow to dry.
Meat tenderizer: Make a paste of meat tenderizer and water and rub on the bite area.
Rubbing alcohol: Dab some alcohol on the sting. Has a cooling effect, also is a antiseptic and helps reduce the inflammation.
Epsom salts: Dissolve one tablespoon of Epsom salts in a quart of hot water, cool, dab away.
Bananas: Some people swear by this! Rub the affected area with the inside of a banana skin.
