- If you have a cold sore already, pop the sore so it will drain and be able to dry out and heal faster.
- They can be treated by using a towel dipped in hot water on them repeatedly.

Cornstarch: Make into a paste and apply.
DMSO: Stops the growth of the virus by penetrating right to the center of the infection. Dab it on the sores twice daily with a cotton ball.
Vaseline: Will help ease cracking and dryness.
Mint extract: Apply topically, healing of the sore, often within five days.
